How to Use a CBD Tincture
You've purchased your first CBD tincture. Now what?
What you may not know is that tinctures are the most common CBD product on the market, and for good reason. They are easy to use, taste good, and are a very effective way to use CBD.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the most abundant cannabinoids found in the hemp variety of the cannabis plant. The United States legalized CBD in 2018, so the use of CBD tinctures is relatively new!
In the traditional sense, tinctures refer to an extract dissolved in ethanol. In this case, CBD-containing hemp oil is the extract and MCT oil is the solvent. Some CBD tinctures come in olive oil or vegetable glycerin.
Your CBD tincture is meant to be ingested orally. You can mix it into foods or drinks, but oil and water don't mix well and you'll get the most benefit by following the directions below.
How to use your CBD tincture:
Shake the bottle for 5 seconds to mix well.
Using the dropper, place CBD oil under your tongue.
A typical dosage is 1 mL or less. The dropper will have markings to indicate the amount used.
Hold the CBD oil under your tongue for at least 30 seconds to let your body absorb it.
Rinse your dropper with water and wipe off.
Tinctures are a great way to use CBD because when you place oil under your tongue, it is readily absorbed and enters your bloodstream quickly. In comparison, edible products such as gummies take longer to enter your system. You may require larger doses of edible products to achieve the same effect as tincture products.
Maiz Extracts offers CBD tinctures in two strengths: 500 and 1000 mg per bottle. It is best to start using tinctures at the 500 mg strength to evaluate how your body reacts. You may find better results when using larger doses and can then switch to 1000 mg strength.
Enjoy!
